ABOUT THE
FARR FOUNDATION
The Farr Foundation is a charity that supports organisations dedicated to inspiring school-aged children, raising their aspirations through STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) activities.
We do this through the provision of grant funding throughout the calendar year. Our purpose is to inspire school-aged children, especially those that may not always have the chance to get involved, to develop a lifelong interest in these subjects.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
There is a skills gap in the UK that will directly affect many industries including Construction and the Public Sector. This is a cause for concern as these sectors are reliant on younger people with the necessary skills to take up their challenges once their current team members move on or hang up their tools.
At The Farr Foundation, we know how important knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths is to the challenges many businesses face today. However, it’s evident that many children and young adults in the UK simply don’t have equal access to STEM-related learning, and it can be a real challenge to inspire them. PJ Farr, Founder and Trustee of The Farr Foundation, can see himself in these young people and is determined to give them the opportunities many in the past have missed out on…
Not every child is academically gifted and many thrive on a hands-on experience, working in a more physical setting. It’s our goal to nourish this excitement and ensure that it leads to a successful and fulfilling career in one of the important STEM subjects – from testing to developing and making to counting, there are so many opportunities for children in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
The Farr Foundation believes every young person deserves access to a STEM education, one that engages and nurtures their unique talents, raises their aspirations and most importantly inspires them We will provide grant funding directly to education partners and STEM-related charities, who can in turn use this to help deliver on the Farr Foundation's mission.

HOW WE
ARE FUNDED
The Farr Foundation is funded through two sources:
UK CONNECT
UK Connect provides much of our funding through its “Buy one, Give one” Scheme. Working with the construction sector, UK Connect donates a proportion of profits generated from the sales of its goods and services to The Farr Foundation.
This scheme provides fantastic benefits for the construction sector as it will help increase the number of young people who wish to pursue a career in this industry in the near future, filling in the skills gap and inspiring the next generation.
